Reference
The laser turns one true plane over the whole ring. Every reading afterwards is measured against it, not eyeballed.

Cut
The blade shaves the crowns down to that plane, working the ring left to right in a single pass pattern.

Fill
The material comes off the high spots and goes into the low ones, so the water that used to sit there has nowhere to collect.
- 04
Ride
Take-off and landing read the same depth. The horse gets the same footing in every corner of the ring.
On an uneven ring the horse takes off from a high spot and lands in a soft dip, so the stride shortens and the leg takes the shock.
The diagnosis
Your ring is out of plane.
A base built flat, a corner that took traffic, or a season of rain can move the plane. The footing follows it. The result is standing water, uneven depth, and a different surface at every stride.

Clear the ring
Remove jumps, drag equipment, and every loose item before the crew arrives.
Measure and regrade
We shoot the existing plane, set the target, then cut and fill the footing to grade.
Review the surface
The finished plane is checked against the target before the ring returns to work.
